Vietnamese market street photography...

I started my career as a photojournalist on a major daily in 1986 and fell in love with telling stories as simply as possible.

For me, simplicity is at the heart of photography, and monochrome is by far my favourite way to remove distractions.

The subject in the image should be able to tell their story without even using words.

I shot these images a few months ago on a trip to Vietnam, and thought I'd go back to what I loved - find somewhere interesting and just watch people go about their lives and tell their story through one photo...

Street photography at a farmers market was the perfect way to look for a story in faces, or find a situation that a first world country might not otherwise afford.
